If you are planning a week-long vacation to Los Angeles, you are in for five days of fun in the sun. The city is known for its gorgeous weather, world-class shopping, restaurants, and museums. Here are some suggestions for a One Week Los Angeles Itinerary.
Visit Rodeo Drive
Start your first day off in Los Angeles with a walk down the famous Rodeo Drive. Rodeo Drive is lined with boutique stores and the famous Beverly Wilshire hotel.
After a couple hours in Beverly Hills, you can head on down Sunset Strip to West Hollywood. There is plenty of shopping in West Hollywood as well, including the Grove Mall and the boutiques of Melrose Avenue.
If you continue on down Hollywood Boulevard you can stop for views of the Hollywood sign at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Continue even further down Hollywood Boulevard and you will reach the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Take a Hike to See the Los Angeles Skyline
On your second day, head to the hills to see Los Angeles from above. The Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park is perched on top of Mount Hollywood. You can drive straight up to the observatory. Once you get to the top you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Los Angeles skyline.
If the weather is nice and you would rather get some exercise, you can hike the Runyon Canyon Hike. This hike offers views that are just as impressive as the views from Griffith Observatory including views of Los Angeles, the Hollywood sign, and the Pacific Ocean. If you brought your pet with you, dogs are allowed off-leash on this hike.
Visit Los Angeles’ Art District
On your third day of your One Week Los Angeles Itinerary, head downtown to the arts district. The Broad in downtown Los Angeles is the city’s newest museum. A contemporary art museum, The Broad features works from the world’s most well-known contemporary artists. The museum is free and is open Tuesday – Sunday.
After you spend a few hours at The Broad, head over to Grand Central Market for lunch. This market has been a landmark in downtown Los Angeles since 1917 and is filled with rows of delicious food vendors. Some of the most popular vendors are Knead & Co. Pasta Bar and Wexler’s Deli.
Take a Trip to the Beach
Since you’ve been exploring the city for a few days, it’s time to take a trip to the beach. Santa Monica Beach is a 25-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles. You can spend the day here soaking up the sun and playing in the ocean waves. If you are looking for shopping in Santa Monica, the Third Street Promenade is an upscale outdoor shopping district with boutiques, restaurants, and street performers.
Watch a Live TV Show Taping
For your final day in Los Angeles consider seeing a live TV show taping. There are several shows taped in the city, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Late Late Show. A majority of these shows are free to attend, and you can request tickets online.
