If you love baseball, chances are good that you’ve seen the L.A. Dodgers dominate the game on many an occasion. Dodger Stadium is located in Elysian Park and is open from early April to early October each year. Visitors can tour the stadium on the Behind-the-Scenes tour, which allows them to see the ballpark from the perspective of the players, buy souvenirs year-round (even when it’s not baseball season), or take the Dodger Stadium Express—a free shuttle for ticketholders (inexpensively priced for non-ticketholders) from Union Station to Dodger Stadium.

Los Angeles is also home to arguably the most famous basketball team in the game, the L.A. Lakers. Their games are held in the Financial District at the Staples Center downtown, with a pre-season schedule that runs from the end of September through mid-October and a regular season schedule of mid-October to mid-April. The L.A. Clippers are the city’s second basketball team, which also plays at the Staples Center with a similar pre- and regular season schedule.

Football fans can watch the L.A. Rams at the Coliseum in Exposition Park or the L.A. Chargers at StubHub Center in Carson, twenty miles south of downtown L.A. and ten miles west of Long Beach. Free practices that are open to the public take place from late July to mid-August, with the Rams practicing at University of California Irvine and the Charges practicing at Jack Hammet Sports Complex in Costa Mesa.

Los Angeles is also a hub for college sports in LA, with UCLA and USC being the top competitive schools. UCLA is known for being a PAC-12 school with a reputation for football greatness through their team, the UCLA Bruins. The USC Trojans are also a PAC-12 football team. USC plays at the Los Angeles Coliseum, while UCLA plays at the famous Rose Bowl.

Tickets for games featuring these iconic sports in LA can purchased through companies such as TicketMaster or at the box office locations of these venues.
