If you enjoy a celebration of the arts and music while exploring historic Broadway venues, the Night on Broadway event is just for you. This exciting, free-to-attend event in Los Angeles is gearing up to celebrate the Bringing Back Broadway initiative started by local Councilmember Jose Huizar. While Los Angeles is considered the mecca of creative arts, there has been resurgence in those looking to appreciate this fine art. Night on Broadway will feature emerging acts, national starts, fashion designers, acrobats, food trucks, and more right in the heart of Los Angeles.
The Start of Night on Broadway
This upcoming year’s event will be the fifth annual Night on Broadway since its origin in 2015. Over 35,000 attendees came for the first Night on Broadway before the number almost doubled in its second year; Night on Broadway has claimed to be the fastest-growing one-day arts festival in North America.
Night on Broadway is a free event that can be enjoyed by all ages. All you have to do is show up and enjoy this exciting event. No tickets are required at the door, with this past year’s event starting at 3:00pm and ending at midnight. While next year’s information has yet to be posted, you can expect another night near the end of January showing all of the charm Broadway has brought to the city.
Night on Broadway takes over Broadway Ave for the event with food trucks and artist pop-ups stretched throughout the area. Attendees are encouraged to check out the participating theatres, including the Million Dollar Theatre, Globe Theatre, Los Angeles Theatre, Orpheum Theatre, Palace Theatre, and finally the Theatre at the Ace Hotel.
Four live music stages are also set up for you and your family to listen to some of the best live music groups that Los Angeles has to offer. Kids will even have their own area, Kids Zone, to learn the rich history of Broadway in the city while enjoying some great hands-on activities. For the adults, multiple beer gardens are set up, allowing you to enjoy some delicious craft brews found locally in California. There is something for everyone to enjoy at the Night on Broadway.
