From its humble beginnings as a twenty-boat parade in a little-known harbor to its current status as the largest man-made small watercraft harbor, the Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade in LA has captivated countless locals and visitors alike with its festivities.
The celebration is held on the second Saturday of each December, beginning with the Snow Wonder event from 12:00pm until 6:00pm in Burton Chace Park—one of the two main viewing spots for the boat parade. Here, children can play in the snow, go sledding, do arts and crafts, and more.
Then, at 5:550pm, fireworks signal the beginning of the Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade in LA. From 6:00pm to 8:00pm, spectators can watch the parade of boats adorned in holiday themes and lights from Fisherman’s Village or Burton Chace Park as they circle the marina. Parking at the park costs $8.00, while Fisherman’s Village costs $1.00 cash-only per 20 minutes, with a maximum of 15 minutes. The parade is also visible from a number of local restaurants nearby.
