Holiday Fun

Drive out to Altadena, where you can travel down Christmas Tree Lane, which features a mile of uninterrupted decorated trees. When we do something in LA, we go all out, and gingerbread houses are no exceptions. The chefs at some of Beverly Hills finest hotels make giant gingerbread house, some of which have as much as 50 pounds of icing. If your Jewish and single, your Christmas Eve doesn’t have to be boring; you can put on your fancy pants and attend the Matzo Ball.

Outdoor Activities

It does rain a bit during the Los Angeles winter, but if it doesn’t, winter is a great time to take a walk along the beach. The waters of the Pacific are at their most beautiful in the winter wind. The waves are high and make for a great photo opportunity. You never have to worry about ice here, and the city of Long Beach has some great bike paths to enjoy. Santa Monica pier offers outdoor carnival fun all year long.

New York City isn’t the only place with great theater. The stars of tomorrow hone their craft at many local theaters. See a play by a new artist at the Stella Adler Theater or enjoy a night of shopping and dining on Melrose followed by a play at the Meta Theater.
