5 Los Angeles Attractions You Can’t Miss

Los Angeles is a huge city—you can’t see it all in one week! What we recommend instead is prioritizing some of the most famous and most-appreciated Los Angeles attractions. You should try to fit at least one of the wonders below into your stay in LA.

OUE Skyspace LA

This magnificent building was once the tallest on the West Coast and still offers some of the best views in the city—perfect for picture-taking! It’s more than a building, of course—the observation deck and the skyslide are the reasons people climb up here! Buy a ticket and see for yourself; even your memories will be breathtaking!

Walt Disney Concert Hall

You know Disney won’t stick its name on anything that’s less than stupendous—did you know they gave it to a concert hall? This concert hall is a marvel of modern design, from its accessibility to its acoustics. A miracle of engineering where every seat is a great view and the sound reaches you wherever you are: you need to come here once just to experience what acoustics can do to music, regardless of what music you like!

Museum Row

Museums aren’t everyone’s thing, but even so, Museum Row probably has at least one museum for each person in your party. The fabulous Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the most famous attraction here, but other museums, such as the Petersen Automotive Museum and Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (opening this year) may tickle your fancy in other ways. Check out the La Brea Tar Pits Museum, where fossils are still being discovered in the bubbling tar!

Hollywood Walk of Fame

This attraction needs no introduction—stop by and see it while you’re in the county! Look up ahead of time where to find your favorite star for the all-important souvenir: a picture of you next to it!

Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica Pier is a hotspot of fun and of our favorite Los Angeles attractions! The pier is a great place to spend a long afternoon: fishing, food, arcade games, street performers, and more abound here. It’s also a picture-perfect spot to watch the sun set over the Pacific. Stick around at night and the place lights up! Even if you’re tight on money, the Pier offers a spot for people-watching like no other! Note that this is some ways out of the city itself, so head out when traffic is light.
